Gretchen Heberling - Architectural Engineer

University of Wyoming Senior B.S ArchE, LEED Green Associate
Architectural Engineering Major (A Civil Engineering Program)
Minor: Violin Performance and Honors Program

I am an Honors student in the class of  2012. I want to advance sustainable engineering practices, and design energy-efficient buildings. I'm particularly interested in energy-related technologies and building information modeling (BIM). I also participate in the University Symphony orchestra and chamber orchestras. My award-winning wedding music business, Capital Players, in business since 2005, is now located in Laramie, WY.

In summer 2012, I will be a structural engineering intern at Merrick & Co. in Colorado. This past summer, I was a teaching assistant at Lafayette College in PA for "Principles of Engineering" responsible for teaching topics in civil engineering, and basic circuits. In 2010, I completed a University of Wyoming Fellowship, on the topic of light manufacturing businesses (jointly funded by the NSF). I grade civil engineering homework for part-time employment during school.

How it all started. My interest in building construction, building materials, and green building design first started in 2005, when I was nominated and performed as a design apprentice at the National Building Museum. By working with curators and industry sponsors, I became aware of the exciting evolution of techniques for construction and energy conservation.

Previous employers
include Ace Hardware of Laramie, University of Wyoming (Summer 2009, the University Honors and Engineering departments, ) and  Urban Revivals LLC, and Gates2U Custom Pet Gates and Baby Gates. In addition to my engineering studies, I continue to write avidly on a variety of subjects, fiction and nonfiction.  Please contact me with any inquiries you may have.
